The Kano State Government has reiterated its determination to strengthen the state’s security architecture through enhanced monitoring of vehicular movement into the metropolis.
The Commissioner for Housing Development, Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, made this known while handing over seven sites for the construction of toll gates at major entry points into Kano.
He said the government had resolved to erect toll gates on all major roads leading into the state capital to boost security and improve socio-economic activities.
“The state government is determined to enhance the security apparatus through adequate monitoring of vehicular movement into the state,” Adamu said.
According to him, the initiative is part of broader efforts to safeguard lives and property, as well as stimulate socio-economic development across the state.
Adamu urged contractors to ensure the timely completion of the projects, stressing that they must deliver within the stipulated timeframe.
The proposed toll gate sites are located along Daura Road, Katsina Road, Gwarzo Road, Zaria Road, Maiduguri Road, Hadejia Road and Sa’adatu Rimi Road.
