The Chief Imam of Arrashid Mosque Rijiyar Zaki, Sheikh Mohammad Dankwano, has advised Muslims to cultivate the habit of feeding the needy, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

Sheikh Dankwano gave the advice in an exclusive interview with Radio Nigeria in Kano, stressing that Ramadan is a period of increased charity, compassion and generosity toward the less privileged in society.

He said Allah has pledged abundant rewards for those who provide food to the needy, especially those observing the fast, noting that acts of kindness during Ramadan attract multiplied blessings.

According to the cleric, feeding the hungry is not only a moral responsibility but also a spiritual investment that strengthens faith and promotes social harmony within the Muslim community.

Sheikh Dankwano also called on wealthy individuals to extend helping hands to vulnerable groups, including orphans, widows and the physically challenged, to ease their hardships during the fasting period.

He explained that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known to increase his acts of charity during Ramadan, setting a worthy example for Muslims to emulate.

The Islamic scholar therefore urged the faithful to embrace generosity and selflessness throughout the holy month, describing Ramadan as a unique opportunity to earn divine mercy and forgiveness through service to humanity.
