An emotional appeal has gone out to kind-hearted Nigerians to help save the life of Buhari Hussein, a Kano resident battling colorectal cancer and struggling to complete his life-saving treatment.
Buhari’s ordeal began when he was diagnosed with cancer affecting the lower part of his digestive tract, a painful and debilitating condition that has taken a severe toll on his body.
Family members say the illness causes him excruciating pain, sometimes leaving him overwhelmed and unable to function normally.
Determined to survive, Buhari began chemotherapy at the Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after doctors prescribed 12 sessions as part of his treatment plan.through the generosity of friends, community members and the painful sale of his personal belongings, he has managed to complete nine of the required sessions.
However, hope now hangs in the balance.
Three chemotherapy sessions remain, along with critical injections and medications essential for his recovery. The total cost needed to complete the treatment stands at ₦1.05 million — an amount the family says is far beyond their current means after exhausting every available resource.
“We have sold everything we could. We are only asking for help so he can finish his treatment and live,” a family source said, fighting back tears.
