Kano Police, NEMA Strengthen Partnership on Disaster Response

The Kano State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to enhance disaster response and public safety across the state.

The Zonal Director, North-West, of NEMA, Alhaji Aliyu S. Kafindangi, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, at the Bompai Police Headquarters in Kano.

Kafindangi said the visit was aimed at reinforcing existing synergy between both agencies, particularly in disaster management, emergency response, and the protection of lives and property.

He noted that the Police play a crucial role as first responders during emergencies.
“What we do is disaster management, and the Police are always the first respondents.

 

CP Bakori described the visit as an honour and emphasized the complementary roles of the Police and NEMA in safeguarding lives.

LHe assured that the Command remains open to partnerships that will improve service delivery to the public.

 

The meeting also featured discussions on information sharing, joint training, and other strategic engagements aimed at strengthening coordinated emergency response in the state.
