A group, Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO), has called for peaceful conduct of the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Bauchi State.
The group also urged members of the party to support Mr Bala Wunti, to enable him to clinch the APC gubernatorial ticket.
The Group Executive Officer, Mukhtar Jarmajo, said this at a press conference on Wednesday in Bauchi.
He expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu and the APC leadership to provide a level playing ground for all candidates, and its willingness to conduct fair, transparent and credible governorship primaries in the state.
Jarmajo described Wunti as a humanitarian, who displayed exceptional leadership qualities to transform education and healthcare services, youth and women entrepreneurial skills development that contributed to the social and economic development of the state.
He said that if elected governor, Wunti would use his wealth of experience to improve the wellbeing of the people to fast-track sustainable development in the state.
“We call on our teeming supporters across Bauchi State to come out massively, participate in this democratic journey peacefully, and conduct yourselves responsibly.
“Let’s us protect the unity, peace, and integrity of our great party and our state through lawful engagement and disciplined political conduct,” Jarmajo said.
Mr Wunti, a former Upstream Investment Officer, NNPC Upstream Investment Services (NUIMS), is vying for the APC’s ticket against former Gov. Mohammed Abubakar and ex-Foreing Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar.
However, Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South senatorial district has withdrew from the race few hours to the scheduled governorship primaries over alleged irregularities.
