The political aspiration of Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, Sardaunan Gombe, to contest the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State has received a boost following a stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja.
The meeting, described as the second Gombe State Stakeholders Engagement, brought together political leaders, strategists and other stakeholders to deepen consultations and strengthen coordination ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The statement issued by Ibrahim Sani Shawai, spokesperson to Gwamna, said the meeting was attended by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and the pioneer Military Administrator of Gombe State, retired Group Captain Joseph Orji.
It said discussions at the meeting focused on unity, political strategy, grassroots mobilisation and strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the elections.
According to the statement, Ribadu shared perspectives on strengthening the party and improving its prospects in the forthcoming elections, while Orji contributed his experience and perspectives on the development of Gombe State.
The Facilitator and Co-Convener of the forum, former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Aliyu Modibbo Umar, expressed appreciation to Ribadu and Orji for attending the meeting and contributing to the discussions.
The statement quoted Umar as saying that the consultations were gradually moving from engagement to consolidation and strategic mobilisation, with stakeholders increasingly working toward strengthening the APC and supporting Gwamna’s governorship aspiration.
It added that the Abuja meeting was part of ongoing consultations aimed at building wider support and coordination among stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.
