The Kano Network of NGOs (KANET) is set to host the Chairman of the Kano State Multi-Agency Task Force Committee on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, as guest speaker at its September Monthly Lecture Series.
The lecture is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, with Rimingado expected to speak on the theme: “Kano Drugs Crisis: Challenges, the Way Forward and the Role of Community.”
According to KANET, the lecture is aimed at providing an opportunity for civil society organisations attending the event to discuss practical approaches towards addressing drug abuse in Kano State.
The network said the engagement would also enable participating organisations to explore ways they could contribute to and complement ongoing efforts by the Kano State Government to tackle the menace of drug abuse.
It said the discussion would focus on the challenges associated with drug abuse, possible solutions and the role communities and civil society organisations could play in combating the problem.
KANET expressed the hope that the lecture would strengthen collaboration among government agencies, civil society organisations and communities in addressing drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the state.
