In order to enhance professionalism in procurement and project management, the Transmission Company of Nigeria,TCN,in collaboration with Rockedge Consulting Limietd,has organized a 4-day training for Senior Managers with a view to curtailing sharp practices.
Delivering a lecture, in Kaduna with the Theme “Professionalization of procurement and Projects management.
A Procurement Specialist, Saeed Dantala Umar identified integrity and knowledge as strategic in procurement and project management.
Dantala attributed lack of professionalism as a major obstacle to having effeciency in procurement, contracts execution, adding that the challenges are enormous and narrowed them to serious external interferences from external and powerful parties.
“On the way forwards, the Procurement Specialist pointed out that best thing is to treat all people in position of governance on the level of understanding that without procurement, there can never be service delivery to their constituencies.
He advised participants to make good use of what they learnt at the capacity building Training which is aim at giving them the modern technics.
In a remark, the Managing Consultant,Rockedge Consulting Limited,Mr, James Bulus,explained that the training is for senior managers ,Project Managers and transmission Managers,was aimed at creating a better understanding in procurement processes amongst the relevant departments and units of TCN as well as to widen the knowledge base of Accountant,Engineers and Auditors and to place them on the same page so that the procurement processes would be seamless.
Speaking on the importance of the workshop,the Pricipal Manager ,Human Resources, Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN,Uzowuro Chukwuemeka,said the workshop would impact positively on the participants as the essence is acquaint them with the requisite knowledge on procurement in order to minimize cost towards production of electricity in the Country.
