The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN), Maradi, has condoled with the parents of a female student of the university, Salamatou Salissou Issa, who died on Saturday, 11th June, 2022 in Maradi, Niger Republic, following a brief illness.
Before her death, the deceased was a 200 level student of the university studying International Relations.
The condolence message was contained in a statement signed by the President and the President of MAAUN Niger, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, copies of which were made available to newsmen in Kano on Sunday.
The Management of MAAUN described the death of the student as a great loss not only to his parents and relatives but to the entire staff and students of the university.
The MAAUN President also described the deceased as a disciplined student who respected elders and other people, especially her teachers.
“So, on behalf of the Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, I wish to extend our condolences to the parents, relatives and friends of the deceased.
“The Management of the university wisses to also commiserate with the government of Niger Republic and students of the University over the death of Salamatou Salissou Issa. May the Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings,” Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo said.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus and give her parents the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Issa, who died at the age of 19, had since been buried in her hometown, Maradi, Niger Republic in accordance with the Islamic rites.
