The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) says it has trained over one thousand unemployed youths, women and physically challenge people on various skills acquisition businesses.
The Kano state Coordinator of the NDE Alhaji Idris Sani Yakasai disclosed this while lunching training session to newly 50 integrated beneficiaries for Goats rearing held in Kano.
He said the training session for goats rearing was targeted at reducing unemployment, rural- urban migration and create vast employment opportunities to it’s farmers.
Idris Yakasai said currently, the directorate is training newly recruited 1,320 people on different skills acquisition program with the aim of creating more employment opportunities, been self reliant and making them productive in the society.
“Recently we have trained 50 people, also additional 228 were trained on vocational skills, 100 other have been trained on various entrepreneurship and 50 women was also trained on soaps making, tailoring among other”, Yakasai said.
“We’ve trained people on Tailoring, solar installation, seteilite installation, shoes designed, interior decoration, catering (for women) among others”, he added.
In his remarks, the NDE director general Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo represented by Mrs Fatima Abubakar Ajuji said the directorate was mandated by the federal government to enhance small, medium and large scale enterprises as a means of diversifying the Nigeria’s economy.
He reiterated the directorates commitment in training different people across the country to become business owners.
