The Kano State Fire Service said fire had destroyed 30 temporary small scale recycling rubber shops at Bompai Dakata Layin Kwalema in Nassarawa Local Government Area.
This is contained in a statement issued to Radio Nigeria in Kano, by the Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi,
He said the incident happened on Tuesday morning.
“We received a distress from Malam Muhammed at about 03:30 am that there was a fire outbreak at the small scale area.
Saminu said that 30 temporary shops of 1,000 by 1,000 feet used as rubber recycling area were completely razed down by the fire as well as grinding machine used for melting rubber was slightly burnt due to the quick intervention of the firemen.
He added that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The public relations officer called on the general public to maintain safety at all times by using fire and electric appliances with care.
