Kano state fire service has confirmed the death of a 25 year old man, Gaddafi Saleh after drowning in a drainage at Tarauni Zaria Road by veterinary hospital kano.
The public relations officer of the agency PFS Saminu Yusif Abdullahi said, kano state fire service office at Tarauni recieved a distress call at 07:34 am from Malam Abdulqadir.
On arrival the rescue team discovered the body of the young man who accidentally fell into a large gutter within the area, during a heavy rainfall last sunday, where all efforts to trace him proved abortive.
He noted that, the rescue team succeeded in evacuating the body from the drainage and handed over to Inspector Bashir Abdullahi of Zaria road police division.
Meanwhile,the agency had also succeeded in quenching a fire outbreak at Bayero University Kano old site staff school.
The public relations officer explained that the fire fighters put out the fire where a block of class rooms, headmasters office and staff rooms were affected.
Saminu Maintained that investigation has commenced to unravel the mystery behind the unfortunate incident.
