In an effort to ease transportation and transform Kano to a mega city , Kano State Government has Launched an Ultra modern Buses and Taxis which will be shuttling within the eight metropolitan local governments areas of the state and Beyond.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Launched the 100 buses and the 50 Taxis during a grand event held in Kano.
He said the objectives of the gesture was to ease the mode of transportation and reduce traffic congestion In the mega city of Kano.
The Governor explained that his administration had invested heavily in the construction of roads infrastructure, overhead bridges, Underpasses,geared towards making kano a mega city that can compete with any city in the world.
“I assure you that 200 more ultra modern buses will be captured in the next year’s budget so that they will be procured and made available to the general populace of the state”
He urged the people of the state to always maintain themselves orderly while accessing the services of the new buses , adding that the Kanawa Bus Services would be following the routes of Jogana-yankura-Janguza, and other routes within the metropolitan.
In his remark, the commissioner for transport Alhaji Saleh Kausani commended all the stakeholders that contributed towards the realization of the gesture.
Earlier, the Chairman interim management committee of Kano Chambers of Commerce, industries, mines, and Agriculture Alhaji Ahmed Aminu said the gesture was a testimony of good governance.
He maintained the ultra-modern organized mode of transportation ease business activities and attracted more investors, stressing that the procurement of ultra-modern buses and taxis was a positive development.
