A non Governmental Society Organisation named Centre for Information Technology and Development, (CITAD) has launched a computer literacy program at Government Girls Secondary School, Janbulo, in Kano.
The program themed ” ICT CLASSES KICK-OFF” was conducted at the GGSS Janbulo Computer Centre on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, the Gender Technical Officer for CITAD, Zainab Aminu said the aim and rationale for conducting the program is to equip the selected students with preliminary computer literacy paving the way to train and protects themselves against gender violence.

She said GGSS Jambulo and GGSS Aisami were selected to benefit from the program after they met the criterion.
Zainab Aminu Noted that among the yardsticks for instituting the computer labs, include showing interest, building to set up the computer lab and also a provision of adequate security for the logistics provided.
“Initially the adverts were sent to all the schools within the state, whereby the above-mentioned schools were lucky enough to secure the program, She said.
Zainab Aminu stressed that the program will equally be extended to some other schools located in the locality at Dorayi Babba, Dorayi Karama and also in Rimini Gata.
The students of the benefitting schools who were overwhelmed with joy as they keenly listened to the tutor teaching them the preliminary stages of computer literacy, appreciated the gesture
