NBAIS Releases 2026 SAISSCE Results, Records 86% Credit Pass Rate

The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) has released the results of the June/July 2026 Internal Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Certificate Examination (SAISSCE), recording an 86 per cent credit pass rate in the five major subjects.

The NBAIS Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Yahuza Sulaiman Imam, disclosed this while presenting the results, saying 46,544 candidates from integrated Arabic and Islamic secondary schools across the country registered for the examination.

He said 21,306 candidates registered for science subjects, while 4,589 registered for Tajweed and Tahfiz, with another 21,306 candidates registering for Arts subjects.

According to him, the gender distribution showed that 27,886 female candidates, representing 59.9 per cent, registered for the examination, compared with 18,658 male candidates, representing 40.1 per cent.

Imam said 86 per cent of the candidates obtained five credits and above in the five major subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

The Registrar acknowledged the support of the Federal Ministry of Education, state Ministries of Education and other stakeholders towards the successful conduct of the examination, while commending NBAIS staff for their efforts.

He said the examination commenced on July 11 and ended on August 8, 2026.

The Registrar also announced that registration for the November/December 2026 SAISSCE External Examination had commenced on the same day the results were released.

He said the latest results provide candidates, schools and other stakeholders with an assessment of academic performance in Arabic and Islamic secondary education for the 2026 examination cycle.
