The Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa has observed that improved utilization of healthcare equipment and commodities is necessary for effective delivery of healthcare services.
The commissioner made the observation when he chaired a 4-Day workshop in Kaduna for the development of a strategy to reduce wastages of public healthcare commodities and the development of an accountability framework.
It is noted that developing a strategy that would ensure and facilitate maximum utilization of such equipment and commodities has become a priority concern for his ministry.
Dr. Tsanyawa commended the National Products Supply Chain Management Programme of the Federal Ministry of Health, the Africa Resource Centre for Excellence in Supply Chain Management (ARC_ESM), CHAI, SFH, WBFA, KAIZEN Institute, BMGF, and other partners for their unrelenting support to Kano state government and the health sector in particular.
He added that His Excellency has done a wonderful job in the health sector which has led to recording success.
On his part, the Director-General Drugs Medical and Consumables Supply Agency, Pharm. Hisham Imamuddeen thanked the commissioner for sparing his time to attend the workshop, which is the first of its kind in the country.
