We’re worried of ASUU lingering strikes,- Northern Women group.

As the Academic Staff Union of Universities of Nigerian,(ASUU) strikes lingers of additional two Months.The National President of Jam’iyyar Matan Arewa, Hajiya Rabi Musa Saulawa said the Association as well as the Parents of Students has expressed total dissatisfaction over Asuu extending of additional 2 months strike which according to her , this would have devastative implication to the educational sector across the 36 states in the country calling for dialogue.

Hajiya Rabi Saulawa,made this known in an interview with Newsmen in Kaduna.

“We want representative of states and federal house of assembly to equally intervene into the matter which involve bring back both the Two parties to dialoque round table , while calling on religious leaders and traditional title holder with other educational stake holders ,Non governmental organization, NGO, UNICEF, UNESCO in the country to equally appealed to both ASUU and Federal toward bringing an end to the continuous strike which really affect Education in the Country .

Hajiya Saulawa said, “we were hoping that at the end of the one month warning strike by ASUU,that ,Both government and the ASUU would have come to an agreement ,but it really unfortunate that ,they are going on another strike, which we strongly believed would affect our students and the standard of education across the country.

She further said, “the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has extended its warning strike for another two months adding that the decision to extend the strike was taken at the union’s National Executive Council, NEC meeting which was held Abuja

According to her, any adding months at home would have a serious consequences to the educational sector including Economy,agriculture and other humanendeavours.

“we dont want our boys back home, we prapare seeing dialoque between the two parties that would solved the strike”:

Mrs Saulawa therefore insist that both The Asuu and the representative of the federal government must go go back to dialoque table and resolved their problems,in order to keep our students and teacher at school,

The strike comes amids of increase price of foodstuff, high cost of petroleum and general insecurity challenges bedeveling peace stability in the country,

“we don’t want our childrens to spend 3 month at home because of strike,”

“we are begging on federal government to as a matter of urgency go back and resolved their problems with Asuu “

She appealed to ASUU to please and please rethink over the issues ,while calling on federal govt to listen to their demand, in order to save our children from wasting more time at home

Adding not every parents in the country would afford taking his child to abroad or private university for studies ,hencve the need for both Federal govt and Asuu to help toward going back to dialoque table so as to save the situation

The National president still begs federal government to save all the abducted school student that were still in bandits and other terrorist captivities
