Kano State Government has procured multi-million naira worth printing machinaries and other facilities to uplift the services of the Kano Education Resource Department (KERD).
Expressing gratitude to the state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the procurement of the machinaries, the Director of the Department, Malam Abubakar Muhammad Kankarofi said the gesture will go along way in boosting the services of Printing Unit of the Department.
He explained that with the provision of the new machines, the printing unit will find it more easier in printing internal examinations and other services.
Malam Kankarofi also commended the efforts of the immidiate past Commissioner of the Kano state Ministry of Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru in making the procurement a success.
He therefore assured the state government that the machinaries will be used judiciously and for the overall development of the state educational sector.
The printing machinaries procured are Plate making machine A1 size, Kord 64 Printing Machine and Polar cutting machine A2 Size.
Other facilities include Ten Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Scanners, 30 units of All in one Desktop (HP) Computers, 2 Sharp Photocopiers and 6 units of Lesserjet Printer (HP) Enterprise series( 608) to be installed at Bala Mahmud Ahmad Computer Centre (BMACC).
The Director disclosed that equipping the computer center will among other things facilitate the timely release of internal examinations results.
On its part according to him, the KERD has upgraded its Wireless router, reactivated the fiber link 10/10 mbps, configuration of internet network and purchase of 2 units of Konica Biz hub 36 all with a view to achieving required service delivery.
