A non Governmental Organization named Kidney Transplant Foundation has Donated Kidney Transplant Worth five hundred thousand Naira to Mohammad Abdullahi wase Specialist hospital, Kano.
Speaking during the formal ceremony, the chairman of the foundation Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi said the gesture was aimed at alleviating the suffering of kidney patients.
He said they choose to support Mohammad Abdullahi wase specialist hospital with the donation with regards to the leniency the hospital was offering to kidney patients in financial expenses.
“We’ve spent over five hundred thousand nairas in procuring kidney transplant equipment, I urge other associations and wealthy individuals to emulate this gesture.”
In her remark, the former minister of education Professor Ruqayya Ahmad Rufai who is a member of the Foundation appealed to the kano state government to expedite action in addressing the challenges the hospital was facing.
Earlier the chief medical director of the hospital represented by De Bashir Garba Ahmad applauded the foresight and commitment of the foundation for providing the support.
He added that the hospital was facing numerous challenges, especially in the aspect of kidney transplants which needed urgent intervention from the government and other stakeholders.
