An elder statesman Sardaunan Misau Ahmad Iliyasu has called on the government at all levels and relevant stakeholders to expedite action in providing adequate and quality fertilizer to farmers.
Alhaji Ahmad Ilyas Misau made the plea during an interview with a journalist in Bauchi.
he added that the government at all level have to provide farm inputs to farmers at a subsidized rate to boost agricultural production in the Country.
He said the call became imperative considering the hike in the price of inputs, saying last year a bag of fertilizer was sold at about eight thousand Naira, while this year a one hundred percent increment was observed.
According to him if government provide subsidy in farm inputs it would address to problems of a hike in address food items and other essential commodity
