The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero on Monday 8th August, 2022 paid a familiarisation visit to Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, MAAUN Kano, at its permanent site located at Hotoro GRA, Kano state.
The monarch was received on arrival by some management staff of the University including, the Founder and Chairman Governing Council of MAAUN conglomerate, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, President of MAAUN Kano, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr and Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar.
Others are Vice President Administration, MAAUN Niger, Dr. Shuaibu Tanko, Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nura A. Yaro, Prof. Ibrahim Lawal of the School of Computing and Vice President Finance of MAAUN, Mr. Dauda Abdulrasaq Kayode, among others.
During the visit, the emir was accompanied by some members of the Emirate Council and other traditional title holders from the Emirate.
In a brief remark, the Monarch expressed appreciation to the Founder of MAAUN for establishing the university in Kano which he said, would go a long way in providing quality education to the citizenry in addition to boosting socio-economic activities of the people of the state.
During the visit, the emir was conducted round some places including the Control Room, the School of Nursing Sciences and the University Library after which he led Zuhr prayer at the University Central Mosque.
The visit had given the emir the opportunity to see the university which is the best Private University not only in Nigeria but in Sub-saharan Africa.
