The state government in Collaboration with Partners would distributes Insecticide Treated Nets Across the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State.
The commissioner Ior Health Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa stated this during a press briefing on Insecticide-Treated Nets distribution and Yellow Fever Vaccination Campaign, Held in Kano.
Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa said Kano state ministry of health and national malaria Elimination Program in collaboration with Society for Family Health,CRS is implementing the 2022 ITN Campaign in Kano.
He said during the campaign over 8.8 million insecticide treated nets that have been procured with the support from state ministry of health and Global Fund would be distributed in Kano State.
“The 2022 campaign intends to distribute Insecticide treated nets Door to Door to all households free-of-charge across the 44 Local Government areas from 10th to 22nd November 2022.”
“Already over 20.000 adhoc personnel have been trained and over 90 percent of the nets were delivered to over 3,600 designated distribution hubs across the 484 political wards in the state”
The commissioner further said Kano state ministry of health in collaboration with National Primary health care Development Agency, partner agencies and other key stakeholders would vaccinate children from 9 months to 44 months with Yellow Fever Vaccine in the month of November 2022 across the 44 Local Government areas in two phases with 28 local government areas in the First phase from 6th to 19th November while the second phase of the
exercise for 16 Local Government areas to be hold on 21st November to 6th December 2022.
Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa commended Kano state government for it’s efforts to improve the health sector in the state.
He applauded the commitment of the National Primary health care Development Agency, Development Partners for their support in improving the healthcare sector in the state.
