Police Commissioner Visits Mada, Meets Stakeholders Over Rising Security Concerns in Zamfara

The Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, has undertaken a one-day operational visit to Mada District in Gusau Local Government Area, convening a high-level meeting with community leaders and key stakeholders aimed at addressing persistent security challenges in the area.

 

The visit, which took place on April 12, 2026, forms part of renewed efforts by the Zamfara State Police Command to develop sustainable strategies to curb insecurity across troubled communities.

 

Mada District, like several parts of the state, has faced security threats that require coordinated responses from both security agencies and local actors.

 

During the visit, CP Bello was received by the District Head of Mada, Alhaji Magaji Bashir Magaji (Uban Kasan Mada), alongside members of the traditional council.

 

The district head commended the police chief for his proactive leadership and acknowledged ongoing collaboration between the police, local hunters, Community Protection Guards (CPG), and vigilante groups in maintaining relative peace in the area.

 

Also speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of Gusau Local Government Area, Alhaji Abubakar Imam, lauded the efforts of the police command in tackling crime and criminal activities.

 

He reaffirmed the commitment of the local government to support security agencies through enhanced cooperation and community engagement.

 

In his remarks, CP Bello expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the willingness of stakeholders to partner with the police.

 

He emphasized the importance of intelligence sharing and sustained collaboration among security forces and community-based groups, noting that such synergy remains critical to restoring peace and stability.

 

The police commissioner further assured residents of the command’s resolve to intensify operations and strengthen partnerships with relevant stakeholders to effectively combat insecurity across Zamfara State.

 

The Zamfara State Police Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while calling on residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information.
