The Kaduna  State Project Monitoring Committee (SPMC) has commenced its quarterly oversight activities across various project sites, beginning with Zone 3 in the southern part of the state.

The week-long exercise is aimed at assessing the level of work done, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and addressing any challenges that may affect timely completion.

The monitoring team flagged off the inspection at Kwoi–Gora in Jaba Local Government Area, where significant progress has been recorded on an ongoing road construction project.

Officials disclosed that the project has reached 84 percent completion, with contractors commended for their diligence and commitment to delivering quality work within the stipulated timeline.

At the Reebok–Adwan Gida–Fadan Kaje axis, the committee also expressed satisfaction with the standard of work being executed. Members of the team observed that construction activities were being carried out neatly and in accordance with approved engineering specifications, raising optimism about the eventual delivery of the project.

However, at the Tachira project site, the committee raised concerns regarding certain aspects of the civil works. Specifically, observations were made about the timeframe for completion and handover of the project to the state government. The team emphasized the need for contractors to adhere strictly to agreed deadlines to avoid unnecessary delays.

The oversight exercise was conducted by members of the SPMC under the leadership of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Malam Abubakar Abba Umar. He was represented during the inspection by the Director of Veterinary Services in the ministry, Dr. Pakachi Zakaria, who led the delegation across the project locations.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and value for money in the execution of government projects. It also assured that findings from the exercise would be documented and necessary recommendations forwarded to relevant authorities for prompt action.
