The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kano State Command, has deployed 3,250 operatives across the state to ensure adequate security during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The State Commandant of the corps, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, approved the deployment as part of efforts to guarantee peaceful celebrations before, during and after the festive period in Kano State.
According to a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, special security attention would be focused on Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres and other public places where residents are expected to gather for the celebrations.
The command also disclosed that security would be strengthened around critical national assets and infrastructure across the state, while the Corps Rapid Response Squad would intensify surveillance and patrol operations and respond promptly to emergencies when necessary.
The statement added that the corps would work in collaboration with other security agencies in the state to ensure effective security coverage throughout the festive season.
The NSCDC warned thugs and other criminal elements to stay away from acts capable of disrupting public peace, stressing that the corps would not tolerate any breach of law and order during the celebrations.
