Residents of Kaduna State have commended Governor Uba Sani for what they described as significant achievements recorded under the Kaduna Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (KADRAAMP), under the stewardship of Engineer Zubairu Abubakar Balarabe, particularly in improving rural infrastructure and agricultural marketing systems.
The commendation was made by farmers, traders, youth groups, and community leaders across several local government areas, who noted that the project has brought noticeable improvements in rural access roads and market connectivity across the state.
They explained that KADRAAMP has played a vital role in reducing transportation challenges for farmers by rehabilitating rural roads, thereby making it easier to move agricultural produce from farming communities to urban markets.
According to the residents, the improved road networks have helped to reduce post-harvest losses, cut transportation costs, and increase farmers’ profits, contributing to better living standards in rural communities.
Traders also noted that enhanced access to markets has strengthened commercial activities, boosted local economies, and encouraged greater participation in agricultural value chains across Kaduna State.
Community leaders further praised the project for stimulating rural development, saying it has helped open up previously inaccessible communities and improved access to basic social and economic services.
Youth groups in the state commended the initiative for creating indirect employment opportunities through construction activities and agricultural marketing improvements, describing it as a driver of economic empowerment.
Women associations also expressed satisfaction with the project, noting that easier access to markets has improved their ability to sell farm produce and small-scale goods, thereby increasing household incomes.
Observers said the achievements recorded under KADRAAMP reflect Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to rural transformation and economic inclusion, with a strong focus on agricultural development and infrastructure expansion across the state.
The residents, however, called for the expansion of the programme to more rural communities, while urging continued supervision and funding to sustain the gains recorded under the leadership of Engineer Zubairu Abubakar Balarabe for long-term impact.
