Makinde calls for Credible Opposition a head of 2027 General Election.

The Presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement APM and Governor of Oyo State,  Engr. Seyi Makinde has called for a credible opposition ahead of the 2027 general election, emphasizing that Nigerians deserve a genuine alternative to government.

He also advocated restructuring Nigeria’s federation to devolve more powers and resources to states urging politicians to rebuild public trust, promote issue-based campaigns and present measurable plans that would be translated to tangible results.

Speaking at the party’s national elective convention in Bauchi Engr. Makinde congratulated newly elected leaders, particularly Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed who was inaugurated as APM national leader at the convention.

According to him, the 2027 campaign should focus on measurable outcomes, rather than announcements, asking Nigerians to judge policies by improvements in livelihoods, jobs, agriculture, education, healthcare and security nationwide.

“I strongly advocated for structural reforms, calling for a greater devolution of powers and resources from the federal government to the state and local levels to bring governance closer to the people” he added.

The Party’s National Leader and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed said the APM is committed to addressing Nigeria’s challenges through capable leadership and inclusive governance stressing that the Engr. Seyi Makinde’s ticket reflects capable leadership and appropriate placement of individuals according to their expertise.

According to Governor Bala Mohammed, the party would prioritise insecurity, hunger, unity and development, promising an inclusive government while urging Nigerians to support the APM ticket in the 2027 presidential election.

“I assure you we will open our plans to accommodate everybody and to give you the leadership that you have given me. May God bless this party. May God bless Nigeria. And may Allah open the eyes of Nigerians to elect Seyi Makinde and Lawal Daura to the presidency, and they will see the wonders of the world.”

The newly elected National Chairman of the Allied Peoples’ Movement, Yusuf Dantalle said the new leadership would work to unite members, expand the party’s support base and present APM as a credible political alternative.
