NPHCDA, NEOC Strengthen Kano EOC for Improved Health Intervention Delivery
The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), in collaboration with the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), has concluded a two-day workshop to strengthen the Kano State Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) for improved coordination and delivery of priority health interventions.
The workshop, held from Aug. 26 to 27, 2026, at the Kano EOC, focused on strengthening the structure and capacity of the centre to enhance coordination, accountability and effective implementation of health interventions across the state.
Speaking at the engagement, the Director-General of the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB), Prof. Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, stressed the importance of the initiative in improving coordination and execution of health interventions across the state.
He said the workshop would provide a more focused structure for effective execution and coordination, while promoting accountability, data-driven implementation and stronger collaboration among stakeholders.
The National Incident Manager, Dr Audu Musa Idowu, who joined the meeting virtually, contributed to discussions on deploying appropriate resources to critical roles and strengthening the capacity of teams to effectively deliver on their EOC mandates.
The engagement, according to the organisers, represents a strategic effort by NPHCDA and NEOC to support Kano State in building a stronger, more responsive and better-coordinated EOC system, with improved structures, accountability, collaboration and human capacity for effective delivery of health interventions.
