The former Military Administrator of Akwa Ibom State, Col. Yakubu Bako (rtd), has urged residents of Kano State to re-elect President Bola Tinubu and Gov Abba Yusuf to enable them continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

Bako made the call on Friday while addressing some residents of Shanono, after a visit to the District Head of the area, Dr Bashir-Muhammad, and the Village Head of Dutsen Bakoshi, his hometown, Ibrahim Ahmad.

He also urged people of Kano North Senatorial District, to support the re-election of the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau Jibrin, for his contributions to the development of the area and its people.

According to him, the country and Kano state had recorded tremendous successes in infrastructure development, and the social welfare under the present administration of the President Tinubu and Gov Abba Yusuf.

He therefore stressed the need to give them another chance to continue doing the good work they have started for the development of the country and Kano state.

The former military administrator also commended the Federal Government for its efforts in combating drug abuse and trafficking.

He particularly acknowledged the role of Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in the fight against illicit drugs.

Bako described the progress recorded in that regard as one of the major achievements of the Tinubu administration.

Responding to Bako’s call, one of the residents, Lawan Garba, said President Bola Tinubu, Gov. Abba Yusuf and Sen. Barau Jinrin remained their preferred candidates.

Garba assured that they would come out en mass to cast their votes for them in the 2027 general elections.
