Barau Inaugurates 22-Member APC Campaign Committee for Kano North

The Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Barau I. Jibrin, has inaugurated a 22-member All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign committee for Kano North Senatorial District.

The committee is chaired by Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, Managing Director, Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority.

Inaugurating the committee on Wednesday, Barau charged members to work diligently towards securing victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

He said the campaign should cover all levels of elective positions, from the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, to the governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly candidates.

The deputy president of the Senate specifically urged the committee to conduct an inclusive campaign across the senatorial district and mobilise support for all APC candidates.

The candidates include Tinubu/Shettima for President and Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf/Murtala Sule Garo for Kano governorship.

Others are Yusuf Ahmad Badau for Bagwai/Shanono Federal Constituency; Abubakar Kabir Abubakar for Bichi; Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari for Danbatta/Makoda; Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe for Dambatta/Tofa/Rimin Gado; Garba Muhammad Chiroma for Gabasawa/Gezawa; Abdullahi Muazu Gwarzo for Gwarzo/Kabo; and Musbahu Jibrin Yanganau for Ghari/Tsanyawa.

For the State House of Assembly, the candidates are Malami Ibrahim Shanono (Bagwai/Shanono), Lawan Shehu Bichi (Bichi), Murtala Musa Kore (Danbatta), Ahmad Muhammad Speaker (Dambatta/Tofa), and Zakariyya Abdullahi Zakirai (Gabasawa).

Others are Kabiru Getso Haruna (Gwarzo), Ayuba Labaran Durun (Kabo), Abubakar Salisu (Makoda), Aisha Lawan Yandaki (Ghari/Tsanyawa), and Muhammad Bello Butu-Butu (Rimin Gado/Tofa).

Barau also urged the committee members to deploy their political experience, networks and grassroots reach to canvass votes beyond their immediate constituencies.

He said the objective was to secure broad-based support and victory for all APC candidates fielded for the various elective positions.

The deputy president of the Senate further urged the committee to reach out to party stakeholders, members of the public and eligible voters across Kano North.

He expressed confidence that sustained engagement and inclusive mobilisation would strengthen the party’s campaign across the zone.
