ADC-PCC Urges Nigerians to Collect PVCs, Says Every Vote Must Count in 2027

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) has urged eligible Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general election.

The council made the call in a statement issued on Friday by its Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, as the nationwide PVC collection exercise organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced.

The council assured Nigerians that their votes would count in the election, warning against attempts to manipulate the electoral process or undermine the will of the electorate.

Ologbondiyan described claims that votes would not count and that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would write election results as false and intended to discourage voter participation.

“Go and collect your PVC. Your voter’s card is your power and your guarantee that you will vote on Jan. 16, 2027,” he said.

He alleged that the narrative was being promoted by APC agents to create fear and encourage voter apathy.

According to him, the party is concerned about possible rejection by voters following what he described as the government’s poor performance in addressing hunger, economic hardship and insecurity.

Ologbondiyan said provisions of the Electoral Act, the deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) and increased political awareness among Nigerians would help strengthen safeguards against electoral manipulation.

“Every polling unit will be protected. Every vote will be counted, and every vote will count,” he said.

The ADC-PCC called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, women’s organisations and civil society groups to mobilise eligible Nigerians to collect their PVCs and participate in the electoral process.

It also said the ADC, under its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, would deploy polling agents across the country to monitor the election, protect votes and guard against alleged attempts to manipulate results.

The council urged Nigerians to keep their PVCs safe and exercise their democratic rights during the 2027 general election.
