The nationwide strike of Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASUU)and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian universities(SSANU)has paralyzed academic activities in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria as members of the Union in the University, joined the seven day warning strike.
It was observed that, the leadership of the Union blocked all vehicles from entrance to the University as only students and Academic staff are allowed to treck into premises of the University.

Other paralyzed sections include registry departments, work and maintainance, security and students affairs all withdrawn their services.
Addressing the journalists, the chairman Joint action committee, and chairman SSANU,ABU chapter Comrade Mohammed Yunusa said their members shutdown the activities in the University since Monday to comply with the directives by the national body of their Union.
“We joined a nationwide strike over unfair treatment and disparity in the payment of salaries by the Federal Government in addition to failure from Government to fulfill our agreement”, the chairman said.
Comrade Yunusa said that the president already has a waiver that members of the two unions should be paid, but some people denied them from being.
According to him, they decided not to pay because they feel members of SSANU and NASUU are lesser mortal or not important in running the activities of the university, all they think about university is ASSU only.
The JAC chairman reminded government about the type of situation when there is no water in the campus, no electricity, all laboratories were closed down and security personnel removed from the gates and students are on campus, they should know it is a terrible situation.
Comrade Mohammed Yunusa said the strike was a success as members of the two unions complied with the directives of the national body
