The Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Anas Danmaliki, has assured residents of the area of adequate security arrangements to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration of the Christmas and New Year festivities.

Danmaliki gave the assurance on Tuesday in Dawakin Tofa while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), stating that comprehensive security measures have already been put in place to guarantee the safety of lives and property before, during and after the festive period.

According to him, the local government, in collaboration with relevant security agencies, has intensified patrols across major roads, residential areas and public places to deter criminal activities.

He added that the security plan also includes strategic checkpoints, close monitoring of flashpoints and effective coordination among security operatives to ensure rapid response to any security challenge.
The chairman further disclosed that community-based security structures, including vigilante groups, have been fully mobilised to complement the efforts of conventional security agencies.

He noted that the collaboration is aimed at strengthening grassroots intelligence gathering and enhancing early detection of suspicious activities.

Danmaliki also revealed that the local government has engaged traditional rulers and religious leaders in the area to sensitise residents on the importance of vigilance and community cooperation.

He urged the people to promptly report the movement of suspicious persons to the nearest security outfits to enable swift intervention.
While calling on residents to remain law-abiding and to live in harmony with one another, the chairman reassured the public of the local government’s commitment to sustaining peace and security in the area.

He emphasised that the Dawakin Tofa Local Government would continue to implement policies and programmes that promote the welfare, safety and unity of the people, regardless of political, religious or ethnic affiliations.
Danmaliki, therefore, encouraged residents to go about their legitimate activities and celebrate the festive season without fear, expressing confidence that the security measures in place would ensure a peaceful Christmas and New Year in Dawakin Tofa.
