
The First Lady of Jigawa State, Ambassador Dr, Amina Umar Namadi, has commended members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for promoting unity and cultural harmony during the Batch A Stream II orientation programme held at the Fanisau NYSC Camp in Dutse.

Ambassador Dr Amina Umar Namadi who attended the cultural display segment of the orientation exercise, expressed satisfaction with the performances presented by corps members, noting that the event reflected the rich diversity and unity that define Nigeria as a nation.
The cultural competition featured various ethnic groups showcasing their traditions, attire, music, and dance in a colourful and vibrant atmosphere.
Highlight of the event was the emergence of the Kanuri/Attic cultural group as the overall winner, following what observers described as an outstanding performance that combined creativity, coordination, and a strong message of unity.
The group’s display drew applause from dignitaries and camp officials, reinforcing the role of cultural expression in fostering national cohesion.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Dr Amina Umar Namadi praised the corps members for their creativity and discipline, emphasizing that such activities go a long way in strengthening peaceful coexistence among Nigerians from diverse backgrounds.
She noted that the NYSC scheme remains a vital platform for promoting national integration and understanding among youths.
She further urged the corps members to uphold the values of tolerance, respect, and patriotism throughout their service year and beyond, encouraging them to see themselves as ambassadors of unity wherever they find themselves.
According to her, their conduct during and after service would contribute significantly to nation-building.

The First Lady also called on the corps members to actively engage in community development initiatives during their service year, particularly in areas that would have direct impact on the lives of residents of Jigawa State. She assured them of the state government’s support in creating an enabling environment for them to succeed.

The orientation programme, which is part of the NYSC’s statutory activities, is designed to equip corps members with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective service to the nation.
It also provides a platform for interaction, cultural exchange, and the promotion of unity among young Nigerians.

Dignitaries present at the event included NYSC officials, government representatives, and camp administrators, who all commended the corps members for their enthusiasm and commitment throughout the orientation exercise.

The event concluded with renewed calls for sustained peace, unity, and collaboration among Nigerians, as participants pledged to continue fostering harmony and contributing positively to national development.
