The Budget Advocacy & Reforms Association in partnership with the Financial Planning Skills Institute is set to officially launch the draft of the Citizens’ Priority Projects Compact for Nigeria 2027–2028.

The initiative, described as a 774-local government area people’s development agenda, aims to promote accountable budgeting across federal, state and local governments in the country.

According to the organisers, the compact is designed to strengthen citizen participation in governance by identifying priority projects that reflect the needs and aspirations of communities nationwide.

The draft document will be unveiled for public contribution during the African Conference on Financial Planning, Analytics and Economic Sustainability (ACFPA 2026).

The event is scheduled to hold from May 11 to May 12, 2026, at The Meeting Point, located at No. 3 Yemi Akinseye Street, Gudu District, Abuja.

Organisers say the initiative is part of broader efforts to advance transparency, accountability and people-centred development across Nigeria.

They added that stakeholders, including policymakers, financial experts and members of the public, are expected to contribute insights that will shape the final document ahead of its implementation cycle.
