The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani (CON), has approved the appointment of Musa Gambo Illallah (FCNA, ACCrFA) as the new substantive Accountant General of the state.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen fiscal discipline, prudence, and transparency in the management of public funds.
Until his elevation, Illallah served as Director of Treasury Operations in the Office of the Accountant General, Kaduna State, where he contributed to the coordination of financial management processes in the state.
Governor Uba Sani charged the new Accountant General to bring his wealth of experience from both the public and private sectors to bear in the discharge of his duties, particularly in strengthening accountability and ensuring strict compliance with financial regulations.
Illallah, an alumnus of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, is a certified accountant and a member of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria.
He obtained his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, and later bagged a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. He also attended executive courses at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.
A native of Jema’a Local Government Area, Illallah began his career in 1983 as a clerical officer with ILCO (Nig.) Limited in Kafanchan. He later worked with Zuma (Nig.) Limited as an accountant before joining the Kaduna State civil service, where he rose through various accounting and finance positions across ministries and agencies.
He held several key roles, including Accountant I in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Zonal Accountant in the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Country Planning (Zaria), and later senior management positions at the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), where he rose to Director level before his transfer to Treasury Operations.
Governor Uba Sani congratulated Illallah on his appointment and urged him to redouble his commitment to effective financial management in line with the state government’s reform agenda.
