Defence Headquarters Delegation Condoles Katsina Government Over Death of Retired General

A high-powered delegation from the Defence Headquarters has paid a condolence visit to the Katsina State Government following the death of retired Major General Rabe Abdullahi, who was reportedly killed by bandits.

 

The delegation was received by the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal, on behalf of the state government.

 

Led by Major General I.M. Abdullahi, Chief Administration Officer at the Defence Headquarters, the delegation included Major General W.B. Idris, Theatre Commander; Rear Admiral A.H. Haruna; Major General B.P. Koughna; Brigadier General I.M. Ibrahim; Brigadier General S.K. Usman (Rtd); Air Vice Marshal S.I. Kaita (Rtd); Major General M.S. Bindawa (Rtd); and Air Vice Marshal A.Y. Abdullahi.

 

Speaking during the visit, Major General Abdullahi said the delegation was in Katsina to convey the condolences of the Defence Headquarters to the state government and people of Katsina over the tragic loss of the retired senior military officer.

 

He described the late Major General Rabe Abdullahi as a distinguished officer whose death was a great loss to the nation and the armed forces.

 

The Defence Headquarters representative assured the state government of the military’s commitment to strengthening security efforts and ensuring that those responsible for the killing of the retired general are identified and brought to justice.

 

Responding on behalf of the Katsina State Government, Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to working closely with security agencies to ensure that those involved in the killing are apprehended and prosecuted.

 

Lawal said the state government remained committed to protecting the lives and property of its citizens, adding that greater collaboration and intensified efforts by security agencies were needed to tackle criminal activities across Katsina State and the country at large.

 

A one-minute silence was observed during the visit in honour of the late retired Major General Rabe Abdullahi.

 

The condolence visit underscored the shared resolve of both the military and the Katsina State Government to combat insecurity and ensure justice for victims of violent crimes.
