The Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) Taskforce Committee, under the able leadership of the Acting Managing Director, Tpl. Nura Maude, alongside Directors and supporting staff, has been commended for its dedication and commitment during an extensive enforcement exercise carried out across parts of Kano metropolis.
The exercise, which commenced in the morning and continued until the afternoon, was aimed at ensuring compliance with urban planning regulations and promoting orderly development in line with the vision of the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Areas visited during the exercise included Tarauni, Nassarawa, Gwale, Kano Municipal, and Ungogo Local Government Areas. The team also conducted inspections along Yahya Gusau Road and Tal’udu Road to assess developments and ensure adherence to approved planning standards.
Speaking during the exercise, the Acting Managing Director, Tpl. Nura Maude, expressed concern over the attitude of some residents who disregard official notices and directives issued by KNUPDA. He emphasized that whenever a building is marked with any KNUPDA notice, including Stop Work, Remove, or any other official inscription, property owners should promptly contact the Authority for clarification and guidance rather than ignoring the directives.
Tpl. Nura Maude further stated that the present administration of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, is fully committed to making Kano a modern, organized, and livable city. He therefore called on residents to continue supporting government policies and initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, environmental management, and urban development across the state.
He noted that the cooperation of the public remains essential in achieving sustainable development and ensuring that Kano continues to grow in an orderly and aesthetically pleasing manner.
The dedication, professionalism, and teamwork demonstrated by the KNUPDA Taskforce Committee during the exercise reflect the Authority’s commitment to excellence and its determination to contribute meaningfully to the development and beautification of Kano State.
KNUPDA remains committed to safeguarding urban planning standards and ensuring that all developments within the state conform to approved regulations for the benefit of present and future generations.
