The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, alongside officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and members of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), monitored the ongoing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election across polling units in the two local government areas.
The monitoring team, led by the police commissioner and the Kano State Resident Electoral Commissioner, visited several polling units to assess the conduct of the election and ensure compliance with electoral guidelines by all stakeholders.
During the exercise, the delegation evaluated the deployment and performance of security personnel, the activities of INEC officials, as well as voters’ adherence to established electoral procedures aimed at guaranteeing a peaceful and credible electoral process.
Bakori commended security agencies and electoral officials for their commitment to maintaining order and professionalism throughout the exercise, stressing the importance of neutrality in sustaining public confidence in the electoral system.
The police commissioner also urged voters to continue conducting themselves peacefully and to cooperate with election officials and security operatives to ensure the successful conclusion of the by-election.
As of the time of filing this report, voting was progressing smoothly across polling centres in Dawakin Kudu and Warawa Local Government Areas, with voters turning out in an orderly manner while security personnel maintained effective surveillance and professionalism.
