Chief Kente Pledges Annual Endowment Fund in Honour of late Veteran Journalist Ben Adaji

Chief David Sabo Kente, a Prominent Taraba Philanthropist, Politician and businessman has pledged to Establish a University Endowment Fund in honouur late veteran Journalist Ben Adaji.

Speaking at the Funeral Service in the country home the deseased Imane, Olamaboro LGA of Kogi State on Thursday,  Chief Kente explained that the Endowment would be sponsored at the Departments of Mass Communication of Federal University Wukari and the Taraba State University, Jalingo.

Kente said that the decision to do the Endowment was to sustain the legacy of the late Journalist who, he said,was so passionate about developing the Journalism Profession.

He said that every year each of the two selected Universities would present one male and one female best graduating students in Mass Communication as recipients of award.

He said that the Endowment was his little way of immortalizing the late Adaji who described as bossom friend and brother that stood up for justice, fairness and held the authorities accountable to the people.

He also promised to support the family of Adaji to ensure that life was not too difficult for them after the death of their father.

Gov Agbu Kefas of Taraba State encouraged the family and the entire people of Imani to take solace in God who giveth and taketh.

Agbu, represented  by Mr Gabriel Yough, Chairman of the Correspondent’s Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Juornaliststs (NUJ) in Taraba said that Taraba has lost a pillar of media practice.

He prayed for God to give the family of Adaji and his associates the fortitude to bear the irriparable loss.

Late chief Adaji died in active p juornalism practice on May 30 2026.
