The Senate of Northwest University Kano (NWUK) has approved the expulsion of 34 students for their involvement in examination misconduct. This was contained in a statement signed by Abubakar Ibrahim on behalf of the Registrar, Dr. Adm. Isyaku Adamu.

According to the statement, the decision was taken at the Senate’s 66th regular Meeting held on Wednesday, 17th and Thursday, 18th June 2026 during the consideration of the Second Semester 2024/2025 Examination Results. The statement explained that the action was taken in accordance with the University’s Examination Regulations as contained in the Students’ Handbook.
In addition to the expulsions, the Senate approved the rustication of 18 students, while 22 others were issued warning letters for various examination-related offences.The statement further disclosed that one student, Rukayya Ahmad Zukuri, was exonerated after the case against her was reviewed.
The University reiterated its commitment to upholding academic integrity and urged all students to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing examinations.
