Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Sen. Mohammed Sani Musa, on Tuesday represented Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the Nigeria Infrastructure Conference (INFRACON 2026), where he reaffirmed the commitment of the 10th National Assembly to strengthening legislative support for infrastructure development.

The two-day conference, organised by the Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), is holding from July 14 to July 15 at the Afreximbank African Trade Centre (AATC) Towers in Abuja. It has drawn top government officials, financial institutions, multilateral development partners, investors and private sector leaders to deliberate on sustainable infrastructure financing and development strategies.
Speaking on behalf of the Senate President, Musa delivered the keynote address, stressing that the National Assembly remained committed to enacting laws that would facilitate infrastructure financing, strengthen public-private partnerships and create an enabling environment for sustainable economic growth and national development.
He described infrastructure as the foundation of economic prosperity, saying investments in critical infrastructure would stimulate industrialisation, create jobs, enhance productivity and improve the quality of life of Nigerians. He also called for stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to bridge the country’s infrastructure gap.
Following his participation at the conference, the senator presided over the ongoing investigative hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), as the committee continued its oversight of revenue-generating agencies to enhance transparency, accountability and revenue performance.
Musa reiterated the resolve of the National Assembly to support policies and reforms aimed at accelerating infrastructure development and strengthening Nigeria’s fiscal sustainability through effective legislative oversight.
