The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom, Mr Baba Azare, has urged officers and men of the command to remain disciplined, proactive and professional in the discharge of their duties.

The charge was given during the command’s monthly strategic conference held at the police headquarters in Uyo, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John.

John said the commissioner also called on officers to strengthen intelligence gathering, sustain inter-agency collaboration and improve operational effectiveness to enhance security across the state. She added that the conference reviewed the prevailing security situation, assessed ongoing operations and adopted strategies to promote intelligence-led policing, crime prevention, public safety and efficient service delivery.

She said the event featured the decoration of officers recently promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), as well as a hepatitis screening exercise for officers and other personnel of the command.
According to the spokesperson, Azare congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through integrity, exemplary conduct and dedication to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

He also reassured residents of the command’s continued commitment to proactive policing and the protection of lives and property across Akwa Ibom State.
