The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has arrested a 45-year-old man, Mustafa Sani, over alleged involvement in a motorcycle theft syndicate.
The NSCDC Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, made this known in a statement issued in Kano.
He said the suspect was arrested at his residence in Gaida, Abacha Street, Kumbotso Local Government Area, following intelligence linking him to the syndicate.
According to him, operatives recovered a suspected stolen motorcycle, 11 motorcycle number plates, six screwdrivers, three pliers and three bunches of motorcycle keys from the residence.
Abdullahi said the principal suspect, Mansur Nasir Khalil, also known as “S-Guy,” was still at large, adding that the command had launched a manhunt for him.
The State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, commended the operatives and urged residents to provide security agencies with useful information to help combat crime.
He said the arrested suspect would be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
