GEJ inaugurated eighteen completed township road projects in Bauchi

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has inaugurated eighteen completed township road projects covering forty-nine kilometres and laid the foundation for the construction of four recreational parks in Bauchi state capital.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan said the scale of the investment reflects purposeful governance and would directly improve the quality of life of residents.

Goodluck Jonathan maintained that roads remain critical for development, connecting communities, facilitating commerce, creating opportunities, and promoting inclusive growth.

He urged residents to protect the newly completed roads and other public infrastructure for sustainable development.

The former President recalled Governor Bala Mohammed’s service as one of his ministers, describing him as a committed and competent public servant and commending his continued dedication to the development of the State.

“Within the span of over seven years, you have paid your dues of delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Bauchi State,” he said.

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Bala Mohammed who appreciated the former President for inaugurating the projects  explained that the township roads were executed at an estimated cost of thirteen point seven billion naira, while the four recreational parks are valued at about four point six billion naira.

Bala Mohammed noted that the projects are aimed at improving transportation, stimulating commerce, enhancing security, and promoting public health and the general well-being of residents under his administration’s urban renewal initiative.

The governor said the N58.7 billion projects were constructed to standard with durable pavement, drainage, culverts, road markings, and solar-powered street lighting on selected routes.

He also assured citizens of completing all ongoing projects before the end of his tenure
