Jigawa Hisbah Review Committee Hands Over 27 Hilux Vehicles to Hisbah Command

The Jigawa State Hisbah Review and Implementation Committee has handed over 27 Hilux operation vehicles to the Jigawa State Hisbah Command to strengthen its operations across the 27 local government areas of the state.

The handing-over ceremony took place at the Hisbah Headquarters in Dutse, where the keys and relevant vehicle documents were formally presented to the Commander General of the Jigawa State Hisbah, Dr. Fa’iz Bashir Haruna.

Receiving the vehicles, Dr. Fa’iz Bashir Haruna commended the committee for its tireless efforts in reviewing the structures of the Hisbah and introducing new initiatives aimed at transforming the organisation into the Jigawa State Hisbah Board.
He said the committee worked diligently to develop a strategic framework for effective implementation of the new structure in accordance with established guiding principles.

The Commander General, on behalf of the entire Jigawa State Hisbah personnel, expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi Danmodi, for his commitment, willingness and passion to support Hisbah, describing the initiative as part of the governor’s 12-point agenda.

Dr. Fa’iz disclosed that the vehicles would be distributed to the 27 local government areas across the state to enhance operational activities. He assured the committee and the state government that the vehicles would be effectively utilised for the purposes for which they were provided.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the Hisbah Review and Implementation Committee and Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim Memser, said the state government remained committed to providing a conducive environment and ensuring social security for all citizens.

Malam Bala explained that the state’s policies and laws were developed in line with the traditions and religious values of the people, noting that the establishment of Hisbah was intended to safeguard the lives and property of citizens in accordance with Shari’a principles.
He urged the Hisbah Command to discharge its responsibilities with the fear of Allah and intensify enlightenment programmes and Da’awah activities across the state.

The SSG also thanked Governor Umar Namadi for giving the committee the opportunity to serve and commend its members for their dedication and commitment to completing the assignment.

Members of the review and implementation committee include the Secretary to the Jigawa State Government as Chairman; the Head of Service; the Commissioner for Local Government; representatives of traditional institutions and religious leaders; and other relevant ministries, departments and agencies.

The Chief Imam of the Government House served as Secretary to the committee.

The handover of the 27 vehicles is expected to boost the operational capacity of the Hisbah Command and improve its ability to carry out its responsibilities across Jigawa State.
