The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board will introduce an outreach medical screening programme at the Local Government Area level for intending pilgrims participating in the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The initiative is aimed at making medical screening more accessible and convenient, particularly for intending pilgrims residing in rural areas of the state.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this during a one-hour programme, Fitila, aired on Radio Kano.
Matawalle said the Board would introduce additional arrangements for the 2027 Hajj once all intending pilgrims had been uploaded to the server.
He urged intending pilgrims who have not yet submitted their international passports to do so on or before August 31, 2026, stressing that there would be no extension of the deadline for the submission and uploading of passports to the server.
The Director-General therefore advised all intending pilgrims yet to submit their passports to do so within the stipulated period to avoid being affected by the deadline.
He also expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for its continued support and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims in the state.
