The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement issued in Kano .

Kiyawa said the village head, Mallam Idris, reported the threat at the Gezawa Divisional Police Headquarters on Oct. 26.

He said the victim reported receiving a threatening phone call from an unidentified person at about 9:33 p.m. on Oct. 24.

According to him, operatives of the division commenced investigations and sustained intelligence-led operations that led to the arrest of two suspects, Aliyu Naziru Garba and Bashir Alhasan, both aged 20.

“The suspects have confessed to the commission of the crime, while investigation is ongoing, after which they will be charged to court,” he said.

Kiyawa quoted the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, as commending the officers for their swift and professional response.

He said the commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating criminal activities and preventing threats to public safety.

The police spokesperson added that the operation aligned with the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, which prioritised intelligence-led policing, professionalism and proactive crime prevention.
