The federal Government has reassured it’s Commitment in addressing the challenges of out of school children in all parts of the nation.
The Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu stated this during a quarterly meeting of universal Basic Education Commission( UBEC ) Management team with the executive Chairmen of State Universal Basic Education Boards, Held in Kano.
Malam Adamu Adamu represented by the executive secretary UBEC Dr Hamid Boboyi said the administration of president Mohammad Buhari was determined in ensuring that the menace of out if school children was properly addressed.
He explained that the federal government had made available the sum of 107 Billion Naira to state governments through world Bank supported Better Education service delivery for all BESDA ,with the aim of addressing the challenge.
The Minister Maintained that federal government would continue to partner and support state governments in ensuring that the educational sector was reformed to meet the aspirations of the country.
In his remarks governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Represented by his Deputy Dr Nasir Yusif Gawuna said the meeting was very timely.
He said his administration was according much priority to the educational sector , stressing that the implementation of the free and compulsory education was a clear demonstration of the Commitment.
Earlier the executive secretary of UBEC represented by his deputy on technical issues professor Bala Zakari said the meeting was geared towards fine tuning modalities of addressing out of school children challenges among others.
The Executive Chairman Kano state universal education Board Dr Danlami Hayyo said kano state government was able to enrolled over three hundred thousand out of school children back to school last year, saying same would also be made this year.
