A former Presidential candidate of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) in the aborted 1993 third republic, Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa, is dead.
According to a source close to late Bashir Tofas Family, the late Icon passed away after a protectorate illness at Aminu kano teaching Hospital Kano in the early hours of Monday.
According to the source , funeral prayer would hold at 9.00am at his residence at Gandu Albasa, in Kano metropolis.
The politician and businessman, who was born in June 1947, was also the Chairman of Kano Elders Forum.
